Biblical Theology of the Holy Spirit
A book by book consideration of the workings of the Holy Spirit are considered with careful attention to His work in equipping the Christian for divine service and strengthening for holy living. Participants will learn and pray together throughout the sessions asking God for the Holy Spirit's works to become apparent in each one's life.
Church Structures and Management
Leadership can be developed. This course seeks to improve leaders and to train them so they can effectively lead their ministries and help others to improve. Theories, types, techniques, and hazards of leadership are studied. Principles of management and personal planning are given. The student will study church organization as a way of ministering the gospel more effectively.
Elements of Church Growth
This is not a course for learning how to make the church bigger, but how to make it become more effective. Discover more about God's will for His church and how to remove the barriers that may hinder His will. Important principles needed to get and keep the church on track and moving forward will be examined. This course is a must for everyone who is interested in seeing the church become more effective.
First Steps for Christian Educators
A basic philosophy for Christian education s considered. This is followed by teaching tools, learning styles, developmental task in children as related to education, use of curriculum.
Ministry Foundations
A basis for ministry in the believer and the Spirit-filled church is explored. The student will gain an understanding of the workings of the Holy Spirit in the believer's life which produces an effective ministry which, in turn, moves the church towards closure of the Great Commission. Those integrating the teachings in this course into their life will experience the Spirit's empowerment and see the results of power encounters.
Ministry Profile 2
A biblical foundation for gift-based ministry vs. consecration based ministry and professional ministry is considered. Students will gain insights into their spiritual gifts and temperament. Considered also are interest areas for personal involvement in ministry.
Planting Churches
Essentials for church planting are covered beginning with development of core values, purpose and mission statement, and vision statement. Use of demographic resources are considered. Time is spent on the sociology of a developing church. The role of the Holy Spirit in church planting is carefully considered.
Parliamentary Rules for Churches
The importance of parliamentary authority in governing documents is presented. The seminar also reviews the protocols for framing motions and resolutions, the hierarchy of motions, and overall parliamentary philosophy.
Principles of Ministry to Children
This course orients students by providing them with an introduction to the total church program for children. Children's workers are prepared to lead and assist in children's ministry. The basic philosophy of children's ministry is presented in detail. The course will examine child development from birth through elementary school. Teaching methodology will be emphasized along with discussion on how to lead a child to Christ.
Principles of Ministry to Families
This course orients students to family ministry by providing them with an introduction to the needs and stages of today's families. Workers are prepared to lead and assist in family ministry. The underlying principles and philosophy of family ministry is presented. The course will examine family values from a Christian perspective.
Principles of Ministry to Youth
This course orients students to youth ministry by providing them with an introduction to the total church program for teens. Youth workers are prepared to lead and assist in youth ministry. The philosophy of youth ministry is presented in detail. The course will examine teen development throughout the adolescent and teen years. Ministry and teaching perspectives will be emphasized along with discussion on helping youth to mature in Christ.
Role and Function of Church Boards & Local Governing Bodies
We consider the pastor and official board specific to their role in leadership vision. This is an important subject as their relationship impacts the church. A church’s spiritual health and effectiveness is directly related to this unity through shared values and mission .
The training covers some of the important dynamics in fostering a good working relationship between all levels of leadership and the congregation.
Attention is given to the importance and components of a right perspective, right people, and right paradigms in a Biblical philosophy of ministry for the church’s senior leadership.
